2017 Baseball Information
The Chargers are an athletic organization for homeschoolers. Your child’s education must be parent directed and at least 51% of your child’s course work must be provided at home. If your player(s) are new to homeschooling or transferring to the Chargers for any reason, they must meet with the Chargers Baseball Director before practicing with their respective team.
AGE GROUPS (Age on June 30, 2016):
- Junior Varsity – 17U
- Freshman – 15U
- Jr High - 14U
$450 – Team Fee for 15U & 17U Teams
$200 – Team Fee for 14U Team
- Team fees can be raised through paid sponsorships. Sponsors receive ad space in the Chargers All Sports Annual.
- A Homerun Derby will be scheduled in April at the VFW, 2660 S. Scenic Ave, Springfield, MO, as a fundraising opportunity.
NUMBER OF GAMES
15U & 17U - 20-26 games plus 2 tournaments for both teams beginning last week in May and ending mid-July.
14U - 14 games beginning May 30 and ending July 21.

The Chargers do not guarantee equal playing time. All teams are considered competitive and playing time is merited based on ability, attitude, game, and practice performance. All playing time is awarded at the discretion of the coaches. Double-header games will allow for players, who did not play in the first game, to play in the second.
- 2 jerseys and 1 hat (this is included in the Team Fee).
- Cleats (black, gray, white, or team colors), navy blue socks, solid white baseball pants, navy blue belt, and baseball glove are the responsibility of each player.
If the player provides a bat it must be a Bbcore -3.
The Chargers carry general liability insurance. Medical insurance is not provided.
The Chargers communicate exclusively through TeamSnap, website, and social media. Check your email regularly. If you don’t, you will miss something.
A sports physical, no older than July 1, 2016, must be on file with Chargers.
